John opened the sliding door and Blueberry came running up to him with his tongue hanging happily from the side of his mouth.
"Hey, boy!"
Dennis followed and said he liked the dog.
"I brought him home for Molly yesterday and he really settled in fast. He treats Molly like she's his mom. It's very sweet."
"My baby boy!" She added, ruffling the fur on his head.
Dennis handed John a cigarette and passed him the lighter after using it.
"Johnny, you're not wearing a coat, it's cold out!" Molly said with reprimand in her voice.
"I'm okay, Sweetheart."
She lifted her sweater over her head and pulled down the shirt she was wearing underneath, that got caught in it. "Here, I've been outside longer and I've been running around with Blueberry, so I'll be fine."
