Dennis had told John he wanted to discuss things with him and maybe go out for a beer after work since it had been a while. He had said his goodbyes to his employees who were leaving for the day and he went to check in the back after a while, wondering if the HR rep had snuck past him somehow and already left as well. Stopping dead in his tracks, he saw John holding Molly against the corkboard on his office wall and kissing her tirelessly while grabbing at her body with deep punishing squeezes. Her arms were gripping onto his shoulders, and he pulled one of her legs up, starting from her ass and holding under her thigh, so he could impress on her how hard he was getting. Thinking they were the only people left, John and Molly were both moaning so loudly that they didn't hear anyone come into their office.
"Ahem!" Dennis coughed to break them up.
John continued giving her a few more kisses, holding onto her as she tried pulling away before he could turn to look at his boss.
"What's up?" He asked as if he hadn't just been caught in an intimate moment.
Molly smiled to herself, but looked down, and shuffled a bit behind John's big shoulders so that she wouldn't have to be too embarrassed.
"What's the hell is going on here?" Dennis asked, still shocked.
"What? I'm not allowed to kiss my wife to be?"
Dennis gave him a confused look but moved his focus to Molly.
"Are you okay?"
She fixed her clothing, and some of her hair, as she spoke.
"I'm so sorry you walked in on that."
He flicked his eyes between her and John, and shook his head with uncertainty.
"Are you two...?"
"Relax, Dennis." John told him, "There's no issue, it was all consensual." He turned to Molly and gave her a sly smile. "At least I think it was, I know I couldn't help myself."
"Johnny!" She scolded and swatted at him lightly for speaking so openly.
John leaned down and kissed her again. "Yes, sweetheart?"
Her eyes twinkled as she held her breath to stop herself from acting up at him calling her a cute name out of nowhere. She loved his deep bedroom voice and he knew how certain words and inflictions had such a strong effect on her.
Dennis stood watching in shock as John finally pulled himself away from Molly again for long enough to talk.
"What did you need, Dennis? You're kind of interrupting something."
"And what exactly did I just interrupt? John, this could look so bad, what if it wasn't me walking in on you?" He said, sounding like an angry parent.
"I'm not going to feel bad if someone walks in on me kissing my fiancé. I might get upset if they don't leave though." He hinted.
"Fiancé?" Dennis asked, clearly astounded.
John looked at him blankly and then laughed heartily.
"s**t, I've been meaning to tell you. Molly and I are getting married." His eyes sparked. "Hey! Want to be my best man?"
The CEO laughed nervously. "Wasn't I your best man once before already?" He put his attention on Molly once again. "Is this for real?"
John grabbed her left hand and held it up for Dennis to see the engagement ring.
"Wow." He thought about his words, "I guess we have more reason to celebrate besides the company having a successful merge."
"Ah s**t!" John exclaimed, "I forgot that we were supposed to go out tonight. Can we move that til tomorrow maybe?"
Dennis shrugged. "I suppose. What do you have to do tonight?"
Letting his eyes fall on Molly in an obvious manner, he spoke without remorse, "I need to do my fiancé. I was being honest when I said you were interrupting us, right, baby?" He smiled knowing she was being extra bashful and was more than likely still turned on by him.
His boss shook his head in surprise. "Well one thing is for sure." He said while addressing Molly, "You've given him back about 10 or more years of his life. I haven't heard him talk this freely or act this youthful since before his daughter was born. Maybe not even before that!"
John rolled his eyes and sighed happily.
"God, you have no idea."
Dennis walked them out and gave John a sort-of combination half hug, half back pat, type thing that men did in movies.
"Congratulations, John, you really do seem happier. I can't wait to let Ruth know. Maybe the two of you would rather come over for dinner tomorrow instead of us going out? I've barely seen you recently and apparently you've been keeping some big secrets!"
John nodded and looked to Molly for reassurance.
"Sound alright with you?"
She told him she didn't have anything planned and that she'd be happy to accompany him.
With that, Dennis went his separate ways from them, and they were able to drive off.
On the road Molly could tell John was still excited from the entire encounter with Dennis and she thought to ask him about it.
"You were very comfortable with kissing me in front of our boss... And he was your best man?"
"Yeah, I've known Dennis for a very long time." He told her, glancing over, instead of watching the road.
"We're pretty close, I guess you could say he's my best friend. He's definitely seen me through all my stages, rough or otherwise."
Molly smiled.
"Why didn't you ever mention it before? You know so much about me and I'm still only now finding out things about you."
John grabbed her hand and kissed it.
"I only know about you because we got to experience a physical trip through your memory, recently. We haven't really had an experience like that for my side of things, and as it is, I'm a pretty boring guy."
"You're in such a fun mood today." She said, feeling butterflies from the energy he was giving off. "I don't find you boring, and I do love a good story if you're willing to share."
He smiled at her and decided to turn onto the highway and head for the lake instead of the house.
"Well, where should I start?"
"Anywhere." She told him. "No, actually, I want to hear everything, start from the very beginning when my baby was just a baby."
Chuckling at her word choice, he started to tell her that he was born and raised in Lakeway and that his parents were very strict so he never really did anything exciting until he was a teenager and met Dennis in high-school.
"We used to go to the city to practice picking up women since girls here were all either dowdy looking or tried too hard to be like city girls and they ended up on hard drugs or pregnant."
Molly gave him her best disappointed side-eye but let him continue.
"We actually ended up seeing the paparazzi show up once and cluster around some people who we didn't even recognize. They must've been famous, but we were a little awestruck I think. It was after that when we talked about reporters and how cool a job like that could be, meeting people and filling other's curiosity through columns and such. Lakeway didn't have much besides a thin newspaper and random flyers stapled onto telephone poles. So, we set a plan to make a magazine. Then we took responsibility by attending actual classes, and figured out how to run a business. Nobody thought we'd take off the way we did, but after a few years, and lots of our own money disappearing, we started getting inquiries for ads and people submitting stories as well."
Molly's eyes were wide. "You're telling me you and Dennis started the company by yourselves? You made the Lakeway Local?"
He nodded. "Yeah. That's probably why I'm always run ragged. I'm not just the HR guy, I guess, I'm the one who everyone goes to when there's something that needs to be done."
She couldn't imagine how much time and effort he'd put in to make his dream happen, and wondered how he could be so cool with the news that she'd relayed from Carol, and how she thought that things might not work out for the magazine.
"I actually met Helen through the magazine because she was always doing some community service stuff and would come in all the time to get advertisements published for her events. You know, church baking and rummage sales. I don't really know how it happened, I wasn't necessarily seeking out a relationship with her, we just ended up always being around each other and somehow that turned in to me going to her place for dinners, and, well, eventually sleeping with her."
Molly stayed quiet and tried to fight the rising feelings of jealousy she had since it was useless to be upset about him having a life before her.
"At some point I think she kind of pressured me into proposing and I figured that's what adults did. I thought that I was somehow better off than Dennis, since he was always drinking his money away or spending it lavishly on one night stands. He used to be quite the ladies man."
She laughed at the thought of Dennis being unreserved and chasing women around. "I can't picture him like that, but I'll take your word for it."
"I'm serious!" He told her excitedly. "Helen actually got mad at him a few times because she'd stop by and he'd be flirting with women on staff or at her events. I didn't think he'd ever settle down. Only a couple years ago did he meet his wife-- through Kent actually. Some party or something. That's when he calmed down and probably why he acted a bit uptight when he saw us kissing."
"So... you were this small town big shot, your wife was the local do-gooder, and you used to attend every public thing that came up. Why did you stop? Dennis said you haven't been carefree in a long time, so what happened?" Molly asked.
He scratched his stubble covered jaw and shook his head.
"Well, it became clear to me that Helen only enjoyed the monetary aspect of my life and she randomly started accusing me of cheating. We really didn't have s*x too often and I tried to understand the notion of her being upset about us not getting intimate when she never wanted to anyways. I have a base psych degree, I figured she was just deflecting and basically trying to do some reverse logic of getting me to not find out that she was the one cheating. I mentioned before that I wasn't necessarily attracted to her, but I grew up in a home where my parents didn't really seem to like each other either, so it didn't really click with me for a long time that I was unhappy. I'd go out with Dennis and find myself wishing I could be like him and Helen would argue or nag about every little thing. Hell, even the truck. She told me it was a shitty purchase and that I wasn't thinking about the household despite the fact that she was the one driving my old car and I needed a vehicle of my own."
Aware that they were parked at the lake, Molly unbuckled her seat belt and got out, going round to his side of the car and pulling him out as well. She took his hand and lead him close to the water so that they could enjoy the scenery before it got too dark out.
"Keep going. I'm still listening." She told him, leaning her head on him while wrapping her arms around his middle.
"You actually find this interesting?"
She looked up at his skeptical expression and beamed at him.
"I do, besides you have the best voice. I think you could read a grocery list, or the dictionary, and I'd want to listen to it over and over again."
John gave a bemused head shake at her gushing over him. "You're such a liar."
"No, I promise! I told you before that you have a distinct morning voice that I love as well, but once it warms up... ugh... Johnny, you sound the way honey feels going down my throat."
He looked at her, slightly aroused by her metaphor and told her as such.
"You do that to me as well. You make me think of ice-cream because I want to indulge in you. You're sweet, and comforting, and it always feels like a reward to have you."
Molly wet her lips, bringing in the bottom one with a shy and sensual bite.
"Johnny, you're being really cute and it's turning me on, but I want to keep listening to you."
He ran his fingers through her hair and kissed her as if he was starving.
"I can't believe you're my girl, Molly. You're so f*****g sexy and you have no idea what you mean to me."
"You're making me want you so badly right now. I really hope you don't feel like I'm only ever just being s****l with you, I just don't know how to express the way you make me feel. It's just that you've let me explore so much with you already and you can get me all steamed up so quickly. I kind of wish you were the one to take my virginity instead of Julien, I feel so dumb for this last weekend when I know I'm happy with you and want nothing more than to just be yours."
He put his arms around her waist and held her closely to his body.
"Honestly, I'm glad you had at least one experience before me. I know that when I reflect on the past, I'm more grateful for what I have now. No one compares to how good you make me feel, and having you allow me your intimacy has been incredible. I guess when I first met you, you seemed kind of eager to get into bed, so I didn't know what kind of girl you were and I was a little worried. But I'm beyond flattered that you were somehow attracted to me."
Molly squirmed a little, feeling him up against her so tightly, and went on her toes to kiss him.
She could feel the heaviness of his lips and could swear that along with her comparing his voice to honey, he even tasted sweet.
