THE RUMOR MILL IS BUSY

Falynn P.O.V. " Luna Falynn, do you need any help preparing dinner for the pack?" asked Gamma Anna Nicole, walking into the kitchen as I put the pot roast into the oven from the other end of the kitchen and I turned around to face her. "Sure, Gamma Ann Nicole, I would appreciate another set of hands." I replied as my lips curved into a smile. Gamma Anna Nicole is a little older than me, and she has her sandy brown hair pulled in a tight bun today. I walked over to her and gave her a quick hug. Gamma Ann Nicole, Beta Ruth Parros and I quickly bonded when I arrived. They are quickly becoming my best friends. "Can you start the tomato soup, please?" I asked her politely as I did a quick mental check of what I still needed to cook for dinner tonight and to prep for tomorrow's breakfast. "Sure, Luna Falynn!" replied Gamma Anna Nicole, grinning at me. It has been a month since I left the Black Claw Pack and started living in the Blue Mountain Pack. This pack has a completely different atmosphere and culture, leaning more towards a slow and peaceful lifestyle compared to the fast-paced city life of my old pack. Half of the landscape is filled with pine trees and towering mountains that reach up to the bright blue sky. I have good news and bad news to share with you. I am no longer a virgin. However, I am still taking the mixture to keep my heat away due to the fact that Alpha Brett has been having difficulty with clearing his schedule. Every time he thinks he is safe to go away to his private cabin deep in the mountains with me, something comes up. We have been getting along great and our matebond has grown fast and strong. We have been having lots of s*x. Plus, going on dates and having couples' date night with Beta Peter Parros and Gamma Maxwell along with their mates. We have all gelled well together. "Look at her, she doesn't even dress befitting her position." one of omega she-wolves whispered to the other. "Well, clearly! The Moon Goddess has a warped sense of humor in order to mate her to our Alpha." the other girl chuckled. Well, not everything has changed. Just like in my previous pack, I am hated here, too. For four reasons. One reason is because someone has spread the word that I'm the rejected trash of Alpha Chancellor. So some pack members don't appreciate their respected Alpha picking up the trash discarded by another Alpha. They think it's my fault, that I must have done something terrible to be rejected or been a useless burden. Second reason, Alpha Chancellor sends me an apology gift daily. They are always stopped at the main gate and sent back to him or donated to a charity. So the few pack members that are aware of his feeble attempts to win me back. Feel like their Alpha should never have bothered to claim another Alpha's woman, because it would only bring problems for the pack and him in the future. So the rumor mill went into overdrive with suggestions that we wouldn't last long as a couple. Thirdly, someone told the omegas that, since I am a Royal Omega, I think I am better than them. So they went from being extremely friendly with me to standoffish overnight. Fourth and last reason, is named Stephanie. She is my mate's god-sister. Her mother was best friends with Brett's mother, and they were raised like close cousins. She is the acting Queen Bee in the pack. Stephanie didn't take it well that Alpha Brett had found me and claimed me. Brett had been letting her do some of the Luna duties for some years now. Furthermore, Stephanie was extremely reluctant to give up that power and responsibility to me. Supposedly, they have never had any form of a romantic or physical relationship. But, I can't help but get the idea that Stephanie wouldn't mind having one with him at all. Alpha Brett Davis swears he has only ever seen Stephanie as a little sister. Nevertheless, she is way too touchy-feely with my fate mate for my comfort level. I have expressed my problem with it to my fate mate, Brett, on more than one occasion since I have been here. To his credit, he has started to take notice and discourage it. I know for a fact he had a private conversation with her about it. Resulting in her getting upset but promising to stop. She pretends to be nice and friendly to me around him but instantly switches up when he leaves the area. I think Stephanie is behind all the rumors, but I don't have any proof, yet. All Brett's men who were there that day adore me and treat me with respect. So basically, I replaced Lady Amanda Falcon with Stephanie as the thorn in my side. "Just wait and watch. Alpha Brett will soon realize how pathetic she is and kick her out, too." responded the other she-wolf. I ignore their comments and the tinge of hurt in my chest and focus on pouring the batter into the greased baking dish. I think only time will show them that I am not going to run back to my ex or that I am not a snob as well as my true character. So for now, I will fulfill every last Luna duty with grace and class. I will go the extra mile in all my personal interactions with his pack members. Time and actions are the best way to fight against lies. I just want to be the best Luna and mate to Brett. That's why I am helping in the kitchen of the pack house. Everyone loves my cooking here, and I love feeding my new pack members. I didn't have the opportunity to showcase my cooking skills in my old pack. I have enjoyed participating in the pack runs. I was ordered not to attend them in my old pack so not to upset Lady Amanda with my presence. I was forced to run alone. Alpha Brett's huge jet-black wolf, Thorne, loves running around with my tiny compact wolf, Blossom. By the way, my first pack run ended the rumor that I was a wolfless or lantern female. So I am trying to blend into the pack. However, being the rejected mate of Alpha Chancellor has garnered me some unnecessary attention.
