Cassie was suspicious. Cody had been acting strangely all day and been spending a lot of time with Liam, whose face was smiling and he seemed to be holding something in, like a secret of sorts. She had been tired all day and Cody had insisted she rest, but now she wanted to get up and to be out. She showered and dressed, glad that the nausea had settled down for now, putting on a light dress and coming out to the kitchen where Cody and Liam were apparently making a cake.
"What are you doing?" Cody exclaimed. "I thought I told you to rest."
"I'm tired of resting" Cassie grumbled. "I want to go outside."
