SAGE I carefully peeked to my right and saw Prince Aldrich standing beside me with a goblet in his hand. I noticed the pattern on the said goblet and realised almost immediately that it was an artefact. And a protective one at that. Did he come to his brother's party with his own cup? I knew the relationship between the royal siblings was bad, but I didn't realise it was this terrible. Was Aldrich afraid to be poisoned at a soiree? However, the most peculiar thing was that he had just mentioned my gift. I didn't even flinch, of course. He could have meant anything, and I wasn't going to give myself away by asking what he knew. "Nice to see you here, your Highness," I curtsied briefly, and he dismissed me with a wave. "I was worried about you, Sage," he said as his eyes grazed over me.
