I stood there, staring at Adam, and I could see how nervous he was in front of me. He didn't even know what to say. But that might have been due to my reaction this morning. I didn't think there was anything he could say to make up for what he had done to me. “Can we sit down or something?” he finally asked. I sat in one of the chairs while he took the other, and I lit a cigarette. “I don't understand why you're here, Adam.
