*Georgina's P.O.V.*
---
"Wow, Gina! It's a miracle that you are the last to arrive." Beth greeted me as she leaned in to kiss my cheek.
"I kind of wanna make a difference for once. Just to let you experience how it is to wait for someone." I let out, but the truth is, I lost track of the time while reviewing our lessons on Social Science. Damn it, I still can't get over my score earlier.
"Haha, yeah right. At least, she's not late like we always do, Beth." Ruby uttered and maybe I should try being late next time.
"Alright, everyone is here? Let's go!" Ken asked as she counted us all and went to the driver's seat.
Leon and Beth will just follow behind.
———
"Are you okay, Gin?" Rue asked me as she noticed that I am zoning out.
"Yep, I'm fine. Just a little exhausted from the school today." I answered with a little lie since my mind is wandering about that ginger b***h.
What if she would report us to the guidance counselor? s**t, my reputation would literally shatter into pieces. But she also said that she goes somewhere fun, a club perhaps, or maybe just to amusement parks. f**k it, why the heck I care if where she goes?
"Okay. Can I ask you something, Gin?" She replied and asked, then, I turned my gaze to her.
"Yeah, you already did, but what is it?" I answered while trying to sound okay.
"If Kian Devon will... you know, ask you out. Will you say yes?" She asked and my eyebrows met in turmoil.
"And, who the f**k is that?" I asked her and I saw Ken glared at Ruby who is sitting shotgun.
"The academy's captain of the lacrosse team. So? Would you?" She stated and I tried to think of who is the person she is talking about. And why the heck would I go out with someone that I don't even know the face?
"Why?" I asked and went back to scrolling my phone.
"Well, I heard that he is single now, and we know that he kinda has a crush on you since junior high. And you know... Are you umm... I mean, would you go out with him if he'll ask you?" She explained and I put down my phone on my lap to look at her.
"Rue, do you think I'm lonely because I never had any romantic relationships since I came to this earth?" I asked her and she slowly shook her head 'no'.
My mood strikes again. I don't actually get upset if I am not triggered.
"Well, it's just that, we'll graduate high school soon and you still haven't experienced any romantic stuff. We just don't want you to regret not enjoying your teenage years. We just live once and ---" She reasoned out but I did not let her finish.
"I am enjoying my time very fine, Ruby, with you, girls. I don't need romantic stuff to make me happy. You guys are more than enough. I'll just go for it if the time comes when someone will finally steal my heart. But so you know that our heart isn't the one that could feel emotions, it's actually in the hypothalamus. But yeah, if someone can make me see that love thingy could be a reason for my happiness, why not?" I explained and she just stared at me amusingly.
I really haven't found anyone attractive or maybe I am just not looking at anyone at all. I just don't care because my top priority now is my grades. My parents can't afford my education in college, so, I need to strive hard to earn a full scholarship.
"Aw, thanks, Gina. But seriously, you'd go for it?" She uttered and I saw Ken smiled at the rearview mirror.
"Yeah, but not with that Xian," I replied and her face lit up.
I know, they have been thinking that I am heartless. It's just that I need to focus on academics and the right person hasn't shown up yet.
"It's Kian, Gin. Okay, we are here." She corrected me, and I looked at the window as Kendra parked her Lamborghini Urus at the parking lot.
There are lots of cool cars out there. Maybe because this club is one of the most popular clubs around the city. We used to go to The Knight's Club to avoid people who might have known us, but it's too far.
"Hi, Babe!" Ken greeted her boyfriend who has been waiting for us.
Thaddeus works part-time as a bartender here by weekends and college by weekdays. I just salute those kids who are self-supporting their studies.
"Hi, Girls! Let's go in. Babe, your bro went out for some matters and he'll just come back later." He stated and we followed behind them.
Geez, why do I feel like somebody is looking at us?
I just hope that Natalie Porter is just minding her own monkey business.
——
"Gin, we'll go dancing. How 'bout you?" Ken asked me as I take a sip of my flavored beer.
"You go ahead. I'll be fine here.“ I told them and they left me to go to the dancefloor.
I opened my phone just to make myself busy and I just hope that no one would ask me to dance with them.
Why did I even go here? Well, we used to have fun altogether when it was just us. But because they have their boys with them, all is lost. Damn it.
That's why I don't like relationships. You need to divide your time so many times and if you'll not give them enough attention for just a matter of minutes, a war will be declared. Why can't they just not fight over something so small? Maybe I wouldn't understand it unless I can try being with someone. But I don't have anyone in mind.
---
I kept sighing and I bet my boredom is off the roof. The music is so loud and my cousin seems to enjoy his job with Ruby on his side.
”Hi, you seem alone here. Are you with somebody?" A guy asked me as he takes a seat beside me and he did not even ask if he can sit here or not. What a damn jerk!
"Yep, I'm with somebody. They just went to the washroom for a sec." I replied and not even lifting my head to look at the person.
This is what I hate about clubbing. If people will see you alone, they would eventually go and hit on you. If I could just bring a banner with me that says, “I don't want to talk to you!“, that would be easier to understand.
"Okay, do you want a drink?" He asked again, and I just showed him the bottle I'm holding that I am not even halfway in finishing.
"How about we dance?" He added and I just gave him an unimpressed look on my face.
Can he just leave me alone? I know it's a bit dim in here, but I think it's enough to let someone know that you are not interested in them if you won't say anything as a reply.
"Hi, handsome! Do you wanna dance?" A girl asked him, and thankfully, he went dancing with her.
I went back to scrolling through my phone and I think I heard a familiar voice behind me.
"You consumed my beverage, b***h, and you are asking me if I want some drinks?" Someone yelled behind me and maybe I'm just being paranoid that my mind went to thinking that it's Nat Porter's voice.
I turned my head behind me to confirm if who am I hearing, but I just saw two girls making out. Damn, isn't she that girl who asked the asshole to dance with her a while ago? Bi maybe.
———
I finally finished my drink and I think that the alcohol is slowly kicking in. s**t, I hope I won't be doing something stupid again if I'd get drunk. I just remembered the last time we went out clubbing and I was so f*****g drunk, I slapped a girl that I thought was flirting with Paul while Rue went to the washroom. Geez, I don't want to think about it anymore. That was just so embarrassing.
I looked at my friends on the dancefloor and they looked so happy while dancing, or should I say grinding with their boys.
Ken looked in my direction and she motioned me to come to them.
Yeah, why not unwind for a while? We should do something fun tonight since this is what we came for.
---
"Hi, Beautiful! Can I dance with you?" A guy asked me and I didn't bother to answer him. I just jived with the music that Paul is playing.
As moments passed, I noticed that the guy is looking at me hungrily while biting his lip. And he is about to touch me when someone held his shoulders, and it's the bi girl earlier. Thankfully, his attention went to that kinky girl.
---
I felt tired of dancing, and decided to order one last bottle of apple-flavored beer, then, went back to our space.
"Georgina Vandross? Is that you?" A girl asked me and she looks familiar.
Then, she asked if she could take a seat and I let her. Who again is this creature?
"Uh, yeah? Do I know you?" I replied and she offered me a hand to shake, and I shook it.
"It's Cara Jernigan. I graduated last year from the same academy as yours. I was the Student Council Secretary." She introduced herself and I finally remembered now. She was also the homecoming queen last year.
"Oh yeah, right. I remembered. Sorry, it's kinda dark in here. How are you?" I uttered and asked her awkwardly since we are not really friends.
"I'm doing great. Well, just having a break from university. College is so exhausting. How about you? How's the academy?" She stated and asked me, then, I nodded my head slowly.
"Umm, I'm fine. The academy's the same as usual. No big events yet. Maybe next month for the Sports Fest." I replied and trying too hard to think of what should I say to her.
I am just so uncomfortable right now. She knows I am a candidate for valedictorian and she might be wondering if why the heck am I in this kind of place.
"Oh yes, of course, it's the time of the year again. I just missed being in highschool. It was so much fun. Look at you now, hanging out in a club." She mentioned and I just laughed with her.
"Hi! Can I sit here for a while, Miss?" I heard someone asked me and I looked up to the person.
It's the girl earlier.
"Yeah, yeah, sure," I replied and she smiled warmly, then, sat beside me. Okay, don't tell me that she wants to hit on me?
"How often do you wander in this club? I haven't seen you around here before." She asked and I turned my head to her.
She looks young, fine, and cool with her leather jacket, and her eyeliner is visible in which she kinda looks like a rockstar.
"Umm, just... Just now. I just went with my friends." I answered and contemplated what should I tell her.
I lost my focus on Cara and she's the one who seemed out of place.
I just dunno if who I am more uncomfortable talking with. A girl from my academy or a bisexual girl who might see me as a target? f**k this shituation!
"Ah, okay. So, you are not a club type of girl? I see because you seem not vibin' with your friends out there." She uttered, and how did she know who are my friends? Is she stalking me?
"Natalie?" I heard Cara let out, and suddenly, I panicked.
She stood up to look at the person clearly, and I snapped my head to where she is looking at.
Then, I saw a girl who is wearing a flannel shirt and a snapback just walked to the dancefloor.
No, she's here? What the f**k!
"Who is that, Cara?" I asked her to confirm and she sat back again.
"I thought I saw Natalie Porter. You know her, right?" She replied and asked. Damn, what is she doing here?
"Ye...yeah. We are in the same class. Are you sure that it... It is her?" I answered and asked, but she just shook her head.
"I don't think so. I haven't seen her face clearly." She replied and I stood up to find the girl just to make sure if is it really Nat Porter.
I went to the dancefloor and trying to look for a girl in a snapback. Wait, a snapback and a flannel shirt? No, Natalie doesn't wear that kind of clothes. She is kind of a princess and a model combined.
I got the sight of the girl and she is dancing with a guy.
Then, I went closer to them, and I thought I saw a familiar face. Maybe I'm just a bit tipsy or I just saw Porter's ex.
Oh my gosh! Does that mean that it's really her?
They are dancing in each other's arms, and then, they slowly went out of the dance floor.
Is that really her? But I don't think so. She said that no leisure until next week after our exams.
Ugh, maybe she really is taping us. Damn it, Natalie! What are you up to?
I went back to our space while my mind is clouded with what I saw earlier. She is with her ex? That's ridiculous.
But was it really her? I should just get it off my mind.
"Hi, Gin! Howdy?" Beth greeted me and I think she's not sober at all.
"I'm doing great. Where is Leon?" I replied and asked her as I took a seat beside her.
"Over there with Paul and Rue on the stage." She answered and lean on the headrest. Among the four of us, she is the one that easily gets drunk.
"Hey, Bitches! Having fun?" Ken jumped next to me and ruffled my hair.
"Hi, Ken! Yep, I'm good." I greeted her and she suddenly placed a hand on my thigh.
"Gin, don't panic. Nat Porter is here." She spoke and I snapped my head to her with wide eyes.
What the actual f**k?
