Gemma POV
The dress I chose to wear was not formal but more for casual events. You would not wear it for a ball or anything, but it made me feel pretty. I love the color blue; it shimmers with many shades of blue and silver as you walk. I put on silver sparkling heels.
'Here, put this necklace on.' Mum put a necklace on me. The main gem sat above the cleavage; it had a large, deep blue gem in the middle, surrounded by small diamonds, and the chain had diamond clusters with a more petite blue gem in the middle.
'It is time, Gemma, you enter last. Being the birthday girl, you should be the one all eyes turn to.'
'Mum, you said it was just family.' I argued back.
'It is family.' She smiled back at me.
My stomach was doing the dance of the bumble bee. I am sure I have a whole hive inside
