Paul arrived and told me that Adam had arrived. That would explain Star’s behaviour. My stomach dropped at his words. I had been dreading this. Any minute now, he could arrive at the Alpha quarters and reject me. I
considered hiding or transporting myself away from here. If he couldn’t find me, then he couldn’t reject me. I wouldn’t do that to Chris, though. He was going through hell right now and would need all the help that he could get if it turned out that the vampires were involved.
