Douglas POV The beach was lovely, a time to reflect and unwind, better than I had expected. These impromptu hair-brain ideas sometimes work, like this one did. I watched Jessica as we walked; she was fine with me holding her hand and shoes, happy to share when we talked and laughed at the children playing on the beach. Jessica pointed to a young boy, learning to ride the waves, and together we clapped and cheered when he managed to get onto his feet for a short time. The beach was not the first thought. Still, it ended up being a perfect one, and now we are headed to a place that was like a second home to me as a boy. Dad thought it was good for me to work to experience what it was like to earn money like other children do. To add to the experience, I had a motorbike to ride to work
