Chapter 10 The living room was all Christmas tree, hot cocoa, and scones. Stockings along the bookcase, including a small one for Maxine stuffed to the brim with toys and treats because everyone bought something for the terrier. Tammy had practically bawled on Mom’s shoulder this morning when she saw it all. She remembered their first real Christmas together. Perrin had taught her to knit and they’d made stockings for everyone, covered with goofy pictures and each person’s name knit right in. Not just some tube, but Mom had taught her how to properly rib the top, turn a heel, and shape the toe. A decade of decorations were on every surface and dangling from every branch.
