Petal not going home anytime soon worked for me. So long as she was here, she was safe. Also, I wanted more time to work on some alterations that would need to be done to the house in order for her to be able to move around perfectly, no matter if she was in a wheelchair or was given a prosthetic leg and was able to walk. I also needed to find a way to convince her to move in with me when she was allowed to leave the hospital. Because I wouldn’t be able to keep her safe all the time if she was still living in her apartment and I was in my house. And moving into her apartment was out of the question.
