If I was being honest, I had already started looking into Petal before the accident. She was dating my best friend, after all. Along with that, he allowed her to be near my goddaughter. I was tasked with helping to keep her safe. So here I was, looking into Petal and her whole family. I had information on all of them. And with everything I knew, I wasn’t so sure Petal’s dad was really her dad. I know his name was on her birth certificate, and he was around her whole childhood. But there was something off about the guy. There was also something off to me about the circumstances in which Petal’s mom had died.
I know she said her mom died of cancer. But from the records I was able to get my hands on, there was no way she had died of cancer. She was in remission and had been for months
