Mara's POV
Days turned into a week, and despite the tension at home, my relationship with Alexander only grew stronger. We stole out on a few dates–moments that felt like the only pieces of paradise in my lonely world.
No one at the hospital seemed to notice this, and even if they did, they surely pretended not to. Either way, everything was going perfectly...until that morning.
