CHAPTER 40 MARA’S POV The air stilled for a moment, my pulse racing in my ears as I stared at Alexander. He had a faint smile on his lips and an eager look in his eyes as he knelt there, waiting for my response. His hands trembled as he held the ring and mine shook as I stretched it out. “Yes.” The word slipped out before I could even think about it and the entire restaurant burst into noise almost immediately.
