I try to think through all the packs I know, and his isn’t clicking any bells. I peck him on the lips and get into his car. He climbs in on the other side and starts up the vehicle.
“It’s about a 2 hour drive, you don’t need to go home to say goodbye to your family?”
It’s very typical when finding your mate that you move immediately, and for some, it’s hard to leave loved ones behind, but luckily I have no ties.
“I’m not part of this territory, and have no relations to speak of, so you’ll have me all to yourself,” I respond, turning my head to face him. Instead of asking any questions like a normal person would, his smile darkens. “Perfect.”
I’ve seen that look before- one of plotting, but I brush it off... for now.
When we pull up onto the main road, his hand lands on my upper thigh and trails up towards my throbbing clit. I swear it feels like I’m going through my first heat again. My breath gets caught up in my throat from the heat. “I can’t wait to fuck you,” I moan out.
“Eager little bitch aren’t you?” His had rubs harder on my nub causing me to grunt out. Not liking his choice of words, I lean over and grab his dick roughly, stroking through his pants. I hear him make a sharp hiss.
I lean over and whisper into softly into his ear. “Only because you’re my mate that I want to fuck you this much. I’ve been teased for the past hour and I’m soaked, so yes, I can’t wait to fuck you.”
I bite his earlobe and he groans as he squeezes the life out of my thigh, pressing the gas petal harder. I lean back satisfied with his reaction.
“Don’t worry sweetheart, you’ll get fucked and mated before the night is over, and then you’ll belong to me,” he says with all of the confidence in the world. I smirk at him as I rub circles over the top of his hand that caresses my thigh.
“I belong to no one, but I’ll be happy to let you think so.”
************
Knowing that we had a two hour drive ahead of us, we cooled it with the sexual innuendos. The heat has not left our eyes, but he needed to concentrate on the road. His hand never leaves my thigh and I stroke his arm and hand lightly, just enjoying the feel of my mate. After we left the city, I internally say goodbye to the town I’ve called home for the past three years.
I never really thought about having my mate. I've never even considered having one with the life that I lead.
Not every wolf finds their mate, and it’s especially rare for an alpha to find his. So, I have to adjust my life to fit into his.
“So how long have you been a lone wolf?” He asks, his eyes never leaving the road.
“About 10 years, give or take.” I shrug like it’s not a big deal. I like to keep my answers short and simple. There’s no use in bringing up the past.
His gaze shifts to my face for a second before looking back. “That’s an awful long time to stay a lone wolf. I’m surprised you haven’t gone rogue.”
Yes, ten years is a long time. More than I would like to admit. “Rogues are wolves that have no purpose in life except to seek what they think belongs to them. I’ve never wanted power over others and I can provide for myself without having to harm innocents…. so going rogue was never a thought for me.”
He smiles in response to my answer, and it makes me happy I could provide a smile to him. “I’ve never heard of Cedrus Pack, you either must be really new or small.”
His face holds a slight grimace, and I figured he took me wrongly. “There’s nothing wrong with either of those things, just curiosity. Sorry if I made you think I don’t appreciate it.” And I honestly felt bad, especially when met with his silence.
I turn my head to look out the road as lights pass us by. The silence sucks. I fold my arms across my chest and sigh out. “Vincent, I’m so---“.
“I started my pack about 12 years ago. It is small, with only about 70 families. Everyone that has joined has either been outcast omegas, orphans, or plain misfits within their old packs. We have a small community and the main source of income for the pack is lumber.”
I turned to look at him with fascination. It’s been a long time since I met an alpha who actually built his pack from scratch. He probably feels like he’s inferior compared to other successful alphas since he thought I was being judgmental, but large packs are not everything.
“Sounds actually amazing. A smaller community will give me the opportunity to get to know everyone more.”
He smiles at me, but it was brief. He kept quiet for the next hour. I was hoping he would want to get to know me more, but there seemed to be something bothering him.
I tried not to dig too deep, hell, we just met each other. I’m sure he wasn’t planning on bringing his future luna back tonight.
We began to approach the borders of his territory, and drive by a cute town community. He rolls the windows down as we reduce speed to give me a better glimpse of the property.
There are many shops and boutiques with a large fountain in the middle. The street lamps give it a soft glow, giving it an almost enchanted look. I can catch a glimpse of a neighborhood behind the town and it gets me more excited. It looks homey and extremely nice.
My mouth is open in awe and excitement. I was never one for the fancy life, other than my shoes, and this town seems like a great fit for my personality. I never thought about being a luna to a pack, but I hope I am liked and can help them to become a great pack known to the country.
“That’s the town square, and the neighborhood behind is for everyone in the pack. When we get new members, everyone chips in and a new house is to be built. Only warriors and my beta live in the pack house. Until they find their mates, they are welcomed to stay in the pack house for as long as they choose.” He seems really proud of his pack and he seems like he takes care of his people, something I find really endearing.
After about 10 more minutes, we pull up to the pack house. It was only two stories, but incredibly wide. He said the main source of income was lumber, and you can definitely tell by the log cabin vibe the house gives off. You can smell all different types of wood that was used, and it’s refreshing to the senses.
He puts the car in park and I take a deep breath in. I’m about to set foot into my new home.
