Isabelle’s POV The moment my car turned onto my street, my stomach dropped. I hated the way this day made me felt. A swarm of reporters, photographers, and camera crews stood outside my gate, their flashes already firing like gunshots through the evening haze. I tightened my grip on the steering wheel, heart pounding. They had found me. They had found where I lived. What now? Nathan shifted in his seat, his small voice breaking the heavy silence. “Mommy…” I forced a smile, reaching over to squeeze his hand. “It’s okay, baby. Just stay in your seat and don’t say anything, alright?” He nodded quickly, his eyes wide, frightened. I wasn’t even fully parked when the voices erupted. They all rushed towards the car, pressing hard with their numbers against the windows. Nathan flinched.
