Logan sat quietly, observing his surroundings. His wife, Tiara, was laughing and joking with her cousin, Arrianna, as they lounged in the warm sun. Logan couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment as if he had finally found a place where he belonged. However, this feeling was short-lived, as his mind wandered to the possibility of going to the Eclipse Kingdom.
He was worried about leaving behind the familiar comforts of his home—although some might argue about that—in the Mercy Kingdom and ruling over people he had never met before.
Logan had grown accustomed to the easy life he led in Mercy; he knew that going to the Eclipse Kingdom would mean leaving behind the normalcy he had grown to love. He was unsure if he was willing to risk it all for the chance to be king.
He was worried if they would accept him and his family like Axel promised. He was also worried if his wife would continue supporting him if he failed to be the good king she believed he would be.
Tiara had always been supportive of Logan's dreams. However, Logan couldn't help but worry that if he failed to live up to her expectations, she would lose faith in him. He was afraid that he would let her down and disappoint her, which only added to his anxiety.
As Logan sat lost in thought, his younger brother Clayton noticed his unease and decided to approach him.
"What's on your mind, Logan?" He asked, taking a seat next to him.
"Hey, Clayton," Logan said, trying to sound cheerful. "How are you doing?"
Clayton raised an eyebrow, sensing that something was off with his older brother. "I'm doing well. But how about you, Logan? "You seem a bit preoccupied."
Logan shrugged. "Oh, I'm fine. "Just thinking about the move to the Eclipse Kingdom."
Clayton's expression softened as he reached out to touch Logan's arm. "You know you can't fool me, right?" I may have been away for ten years, but I know you too well. "What's going on?"
Logan hesitated for a moment before deciding to confide in his younger brother. "I'm just worried about going to the Eclipse Kingdom. I've never been there before, and I don't know the people or the customs. "It's a big risk to take," he said with a sigh.
"I can understand why you're feeling that way. But remember, you have a responsibility to our people. They're counting on you to lead them and protect them.
"I can imagine that's tough." But you can't let fear hold you back from your destiny, Logan. You were born to rule. Tiara believes in you, and so do I.
"And I believe your mother does too, or she wouldn't have allowed Axel to tell you the truth about your birth. "I think if she had any doubts about you, she would've figured out a way for Axel to leave without the truth being revealed."
Logan felt a sense of relief wash over him as he looked into his brother's eyes. He knew that Clayton was right. He had a duty to his people, and he couldn't let his fears get in the way of his responsibility. He smiled gratefully at his brother, thankful for his unwavering support.
He smiled weakly at his brother's words. "Thanks, Clayton. "I appreciate your support."
Clayton placed a reassuring hand on Logan's shoulder. "Of course, brother." "We're here for you, no matter what."
Logan felt a renewed sense of determination as he stood up from his seat. He knew that he couldn't let his fears hold him back any longer. He had a responsibility to his people, and he couldn't let them down.
"Thanks, Clayton," he said again, more confidently this time. "I needed to hear that. "I'm ready to take on this challenge and be the leader that our people deserve."
Clayton nodded, a proud smile spreading across his face. "That's the spirit, Logan. "I have faith in you."
Logan turned to Tiara and Arrianna, feeling grateful for the support of his family. "Tiara, we're going to the Eclipse Kingdom. and we're going to make it work."
Tiara beamed with pride as she stood up and wrapped her arms around her husband. "I knew you could do it, Logan. "I'm so proud of you."
Logan felt a sense of excitement building within him. He knew that the road ahead wouldn't be easy, but he was ready to face it head-on. He was going to the Eclipse Kingdom to be their king, and he was going to do everything in his power to make his people proud.
He only hoped that his uncle wouldn't find out about their location. Axel called him weak, but Logan wasn't a fool to underestimate someone he had never met before.
The fact that he managed to kill his own brother to sit on that throne meant that he was dangerous, and he wasn't someone to mess with, especially since Logan hadn't shifted into his dragon yet.
His mother and Axel did say that Logan's uncle's dragon was weak, but if Logan hadn't shifted, it meant he was completely human, and no matter how skilled he was when it came to combat, it didn't mean a thing against someone who had supernatural abilities.
Logan couldn't shake off the unease that settled in his gut as he thought about his uncle. He knew he needed to be careful and not let his guard down, especially with such a dangerous opponent.
He decided to talk to Axel about his concerns and see if there were any precautions they could take to ensure their safety.
Logan stood up from his seat and made his way to Axel's room. As he approached the door, he could hear voices inside, and he recognized one of them as his mother's.
He hesitated for a moment, not wanting to intrude on their conversation. But his worries about his uncle and his impending move to the Eclipse Kingdom made him push aside his reservations.
He knocked on the door and waited for a response. A few moments later, the door opened, revealing Axel and his mother.
"Logan, what brings you here?" his mother asked, smiling at him.
"I was wondering if I could talk to Axel for a moment," Logan said, trying to keep the unease out of his voice.
"Of course, dear. Axel, would you mind stepping out for a moment?" his mother said, turning to him.
Axel nodded; his expression was unreadable as he stepped out of the room, closing the door behind him.
"What is it?" "You look worried."
"I've decided to go back home with Axel." His mother squealed as she hugged him.
"That's wonderful news!" She released him when she noticed that he wasn't smiling or laughing along with her. "What is it?" "Is Tiara not willing to come with you?"
"No, she has been nothing but supportive." She is part of the reason I chose to go. She wants the best for me, and I know she will go with me wherever I go."
"Then what is it?" She added that he didn't say anything for a while. "You know you can talk to me."
Logan took a deep breath, trying to calm his nerves as he turned to his mother. "I'm worried about my uncle, Mother. "I know Axel said that his dragon was weak, but I can't help but feel uneasy about the situation."
His mother's expression softened as she placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "I understand, Logan. "And I assure you, my brother wouldn't have sent Axel here if he hadn't taken precautions to ensure your safety."
Logan nodded, feeling a bit more at ease. "What kind of precautions?"
"You'll have to ask Axel about that, but I can assure you that there are some of the best fighters in the land, and I have no doubt that they will keep you safe.
"I know some are loyal to the throne, which means they are loyal to whoever is sitting on that throne at this moment and not who is supposed to, but you don't have to worry. The Protectors will be ready to protect you as soon as you step foot in Eclipse.
"All I have to do is tell them who you are, and they will do what they were trained to do. They took an oath to protect you and your family, and they will do just that."
Gail stood up from her chair and walked over to a shelf lined with various artifacts that Logan had always wanted to get rid of. She picked up a small, intricately designed box and handed it to Logan.
"This is a dragon scale box." It's designed to ward off any dark magic or negative energy that may be directed toward you. Your mother gave it to me to give to you when you were ready.
Logan examined the box closely, marveling at the intricate designs etched into its surface. "This is amazing. "Thank you, Mother."
Gail smiled warmly at Logan. "You're welcome, Logan." Your mother knew that you would need protection; she just didn't know you would need protection from your uncle. "This box is just one of the many precautions she and your father have taken to ensure your safety."
Logan felt a sense of relief wash over him as he looked at the dragon scale box. He knew that Gail had his best interests at heart, and he was grateful for her care and protection.
"Thank you, Mother. "I appreciate everything you've done for me," Logan said sincerely. He knew that even though Gail never told him the truth about his birth, she would never do anything to harm him.
Gail placed a reassuring hand on Logan's shoulder. "You're my son, Logan." And I would do anything to protect you and our family.
"Your mother entrusted you to me, and I know she did that with a lot of trust. I don't want to fail her or myself.
"I made a vow the day you were born—actually, before you were even born—that I would always protect you, and I am doing just that.
"It doesn't matter if I'm just your protector and not your real mother. Your safety and happiness are what brings me joy."
He smiled at her and said his goodbyes. He needed to talk to Axel.
"Hey, Axel." Logan greeted him as soon as he found him.
Axel looked up from his phone and smiled. "Hey, Logan. What can I do for you?"
He told him about the decision to go back with him.
"You don't seem happy about that," Axel said as he noticed that he wasn't showing any kind of emotion.
"I am happy."
"But?"
"I am worried about my uncle. I have spoken to Mom about it and she has assured me that I don't have to be worried. I just want to know if I really shouldn't be worrying."
"I understand why you're worried, but you should trust me and if you don't want to, then trust your mother. My father has made sure that your uncle doesn't locate us.
"I know you might be asking yourself, 'But what if he does?' and I can assure you, we have contingencies in place for that scenario. But you need to have faith in yourself, Logan.
"You have everyone in this house as your support and I know that is more than enough. If you need my help at any time, you should know that I will always be available to help."
"Thank you, Axel."
"You don't need to thank me, Your Majesty. It is my duty to ensure your safety." Logan didn't know what to do when Axel just changed like that, so he just put his hand on his shoulder and nodded.
As Logan walked back to his wife, he felt a sense of excitement building within him. He knew that the road ahead would be difficult, but he was ready to face it head-on. He was going to the Eclipse Kingdom to be their king, and he was going to make his parents and his people proud.
