Prologue
“A life that I don’t own.” This is what Krystal Evans says to herself a lot. Whenever her dad wants her to do something that she does not like but still ends up doing it. She was born with a guilt that she will forever bear with her as soon as she lives.
Her mother died upon giving birth to her, so as a young child she always felt obligated to please her father, even though she never got his attention at all. She only had a friend once but it turned out to be a fake.
Krystal and her now former friend are destined to become classmates until high school. Even though Krystal is really a good person inside, no one wants to befriend her because she was extremely rich and the rumors surrounding her for paying the teachers for good grades. Little did they know that she was actually a kind-hearted person.
She always ranks 1st. But people have their opinions and prejudices about her and whatever she does, she is seen as someone she isn’t. Krystal had never liked a person before because her only goal was to make her father proud of her. Since she always felt obligated, she took a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration because she knew that she was the only heiress of the Evans Group.
Her only goal changed when she met James Ellis at the charity that she randomly picks every month. James has actually been her classmate from 1st year until now that they are in 3rd year college.
He is a role model student and a student council president. Since she did not pay attention to anything or anyone, she did not know that James had the same heart as her. It is to help people who are in need.
Krystal started to become 2nd in class because of James Ellis. James Ellis is smarter than Krystal, which made him 1st since they were in 1st year college.
Her naïve heart made her fall in love with him. Suddenly, her dad set off an arrangement with a family and said she would be arranged to marry. At first she did not want to, because, finally in her life, she had something that she wanted, but because she did not want to disappoint her father, she agreed to the arranged dinner where she would meet the guy who would become her fiancé.
The moment that her fiancé arrived, she was surprised. It is because the guy who was arranged for her is the person that she likes. Although James Ellis did not show affection for her, Krystal remained positive about making her fiancé like her.
Now that they are arranged to be married after their graduation, she added another goal for herself. It is to make James Ellis fall for her. Will James like Krystal, who is known as the worst person in the school? Or will his heart be changed after seeing the goodness in her too?
