I had lost track of how long I had spent walking around the woods that surrounded my house, trying to decide when would be an appropriate time to return. I was supposed to be out, trying to resolve the family dispute in which Shane had found himself in, but unfortunately for me, there had been no actual dispute to resolve. It would have been much easier for me to just go ahead to Shane’s house and hang around there for a while, but I knew that he would ask questions. He was inquisitive by nature.
