CHAPTER FORTY-SIX JEALOUS THEO’S POV Sometimes you try hard and still fail spectacularly. I’ve tried not to think about it too much, tried not to let it chew holes in my brain, but the image of Derek and Amber alone in his car has my insides coiling with jealousy so sharp it burns. Blaze, my wolf, isn’t making it easier. He wants her with a hunger that shakes me. She is our mate, he keeps snarling, reminding me over and over, as if I could ever forget. “Just f*****g ask her out already, Theo,” Brian says, slamming his locker shut so hard the metal clang echoes across the boy’s locker room. I look up, startled. Both Mateo and I are fresh out of basketball practice, sweat still clinging to my skin, and Brian’s just wrapped his own football session. We’ve just finished getting dressed. H
