IT’S A DATE
AMBER’S POV
I think I underestimated just how much my life could change in three weeks. Three weeks ago, I was invisible; the girl in the shadows, easy prey for anyone who needed a laugh. Especially Valentina, who thrived on making me miserable. And now? Now I’m standing here, completely at a loss for words, because the one boy who had never so much as glanced at me before… is standing in front of me, asking me out on a date.
Not just any boy. Him.
The whiskey color of his eyes holds a hope so raw it makes my chest ache. I must have been quiet too long, because I see that hope begin to crumble.
“You… want to go out with me?” The words tumble out before I can stop them, half disbelief, half defense. Like maybe if I repeat them, I’ll prove to myself this
