Selena’s POV
After lunch, Theo took Leo and Lilian to the living room to read a story by the fireplace. The house was warm and safe, but I wanted to go for a walk.
I put on my black winter coat, wrapped a warm scarf around my neck, and pulled on my snow boots.
"I'm just going for a short walk near the edge of the trees," I told Theo, standing in the doorway of the living room.
He looked up from the storybook and I thought he was going to say something or forbid me from going but instead he gave me a soft smile. "Okay. Just stay close to the house, Violet. If you need me, just yell."
I nodded and walked out the front door.
The freezing air bit my cheeks, but it felt incredibly refreshing.
