As soon as those words sank in, pain shot through him like lightning, and he barely managed to suppress the gasp that's punched out of his stomach. His entire body froze, hands stilling as they wrapped around her. For a second, he thought that he might have misheard something, maybe due to the sound of a fan whirring on the ceiling. “What?!” The Alpha pushed back against his chest and sat, not caring of the sheets that pooled down his body. He heard the rustling from his side, probably Allison sitting up as well. “Is this a joke, Allison?” Alec tried to swallow around the lump growing in his throat. The Alpha felt like he's going to choke on it, wants to shut his eyes and wake up from his nightmare. The hunter sitting in front of him appeared equally stricken, but she remained quiet
