(Avery) The next morning came quiet and still. Sunlight slipped through my curtains and landed across the blanket. For a moment, everything looked calm. I stayed there for a bit, staring at the ceiling and thinking about last night. The study session went well. It had been nice having the boys over, laughing and studying even if we barely made it through half the questions.
