The house felt empty without everyone around. I looked down at the bracelet Luca had given me and smiled. Even when they were gone, a piece of them stayed with me.
I needed a distraction. Caleb. I was going to find him and question him. I was not going to let him go easily because of the stunt he pulled at lunch.
First, I checked his room and he was not there. I walked down the hall and saw one of the staff members and asked her for him. She told me she had spotted him going to the library. Perfect. Now I had the privacy to tease him the right way.
Opening the door, I giggled when I heard the rustle of books. He was not expecting me, so I tried my best to keep quiet.
I stepped closer, keeping my footsteps light, and leaned against the doorframe just long enough to watch him.
