After dinner, we all sat in the living room. Mrs. Reed brought out a few board games from the closet.
"Anyone want to play something?" she asked.
"Yeah," Luca said right away. "Let's do it."
We gathered around the coffee table. Jackson sat on the couch with his ankle propped up, Avery sat beside him, and I took the chair across from them. Luca sprawled out on the floor with a pillow under his head.
Mr. and Mrs. Reed joined us. Mrs. Reed shuffled the cards while Mr. Reed looked through the board games.
"What about this one?" he asked, holding up a trivia game.
"Sure," Jackson said. "That sounds fun."
We set up the board and started playing. The first few questions were easy. Mrs. Reed got one about history right, and Mr. Reed answered a sports question without hesitation.
