(Avery) I stayed wrapped in Luca’s arms for a few more minutes, enjoying the quiet. The room felt calm and safe, and I didn’t want to move. But eventually, I realized it was getting late, and I had to go home. “I should probably head back,” I said softly, lifting my head just enough to look at him. He nodded, still holding my hand. “Okay. I’ll drive you,” he said. I smiled, grateful for his company. We stood up together, his hand still holding mine, and walked to the door.
