Eighteen years ago, Demon asked me to be the Queen of the Mara Clan and marry him. I was deeply in love with him, despite him being what I considered then a monster. I told him yes, under one condition, he would never turn me. I didn’t know that he could not marry a human, but only a vampire, and he never told me that tiny detail. Seth is the one who told me that I would need to be a vampire for him to crown me queen of the Mara Clan. Later I found out that Demon was planning on turning me the night before our wedding against my will. That’s when I started to plan my escape.
