TAYLOR As I stood at the threshold of my room, I contemplated my options. The temptation to lock myself away, far from the muddled emotions and uncertainties that swirled around Vladimir, was strong. Yet, as my hand lingered on the doorknob, I realized that retreating to the confines of that suffocating room would do me no good. The events of the previous night had left me in a state of turmoil.
