MINT ACADEMY 5: CHAOS

CHAPTER 11: THE FORMER STUDENT

I was panting so hard and it's hard to breath. I feel like my heart is going to choke me to death. I tried to calm myself so hard, I tried to remain calm as possible as I can but it's really hard to stay calm if you knew that your mom's life were in danger.

"Akesia..." I heard someone called me.

I looked at that person forcefully and I can't see her face clearly. I feel like I'm going to faint any moment.

"Oh, goodness!" That is just what I've heard and everything went black.

Jullia's Point of View

Halos hindi na magkanda-ugaga ang mga nurse dahil bigla na lang nag passed out si Akesia. Kahit din naman ako hindi din naman ako magkanda-ugaga dahil ako lang mag-isa ang kasama ni Akesia ngayon. Dahil kasi sa nangyari kanina, sila Henry na ang nagsabi na sila na ang bahala sa mga police.

They are going to give their testimony to the police kaya naman wala sila dito. How I wish na nandito sila para naman hindi ako nahihirapan ng ganito.

Inilagay si Akesia sa isang VIP room. Since we're wearing our school uniform they gave us a proper and great attention. Hindi nga lang ang mga nurses and doctors ang nagbibigay sa amin ng atensyon kundi pati na rin ang mga patients and visitors.

May ilan pa nga na gustong lumapit sa akin ngayon but seeing me waiting in front of the operating room they restrained themselves.

Kaagad din naman akong napatayo nang makita ko na nawala ang red color sa paskil sa taas ng pinto. Indicating that the operation is done. Ilang minuto pa ay lumabas ang isang doctor and when he saw me he was surprise.

"Doc?"

"Oh, sorry. This is the first time that I saw someone from the Mint Academy after I graduated." He said and that also took me a surprise. "Anyway, are you the patient's relative?"

Umiling naman ako, "No, po. Pero kilala ko po yung pasyente and I'm with her daughter pero nahimatay po siya sa sobrang kaba."

Tumango naman ang doctor at saka tumingin sa akin, "The operation was a huge success. Although the doctors that with me during the operation were telling me that it was impossible for the lady to survive. But,"

Kaagad naman akong kinabahan hindi para sa sarili ko, kundi para kay Akesia at sa mama niya. "But?"

"But I know that there is something in her system that makes her alive. You know, us, students of Mint Academy had something that the others can't do." Marahan naman akong tumango sa sinabi ng doctor. "So, for the mean time, to avoid the suspision, we have to keep her safe at the same time we have to control the people visiting her."

"Okay po,"

"We succeed in operating her but it was up to her if she wanted to still alive or not. The operation was a hudge success and her condition were stabilized but it is up to the person if she still wanted to see the world or she will just stay sleeping for the rest of her life."

I nodded my head and said, "Um, doc, you said that you're from Mint Academy also, right?" He nods his head and I continue talking, "Can I asked you a favor, senpai?"

Of course, I had to call him senpai since he's much more older than I am and he's a former student of Mint Academy. Knowing the academy, I know that he had a great accomplishments.

"Sure,"

"Can you please tell everything to my friend even though she's not in a great state?"

His brows furrowed, "What do you mean not in a great state?"

I bit my lower lip and told him that, "I think she had a panic attack earlier. Hindi ko po alam kung panic attack ba talaga iyon since hindi pa siya nagpapanic simula noong naging parte kami ng Academy."

He nods his head, "Well, I think it's not really a panic attack. She might be too stress right now kaya nangyari iyon sa kanya. Panic attack is not a small matter so we still have to look for your friend." He said with a serious tone of voice, "Knowing that she's also my junior then, I have to help her." He added and smiled at me. "Anyway, ilalagay nga pala namin ang mama ng kaibigan mo sa ICU room 4."

Tumango naman ako at saka nagpasalamat sa kanya at saka naman siya umalis. Huminga muna ako ng malalim at saka naupo para magpahinga nang kaunti.

"Ah, how am I going to face her?" I asked myself.

Kung nandito lang sana si kuya edi sana mababawasa ng kaunti ang sakit na mararamdaman ni Akesia once na malaman niya na ang kalagayan ng mama niya. I mean, yes, okay, her mom is stable but what if she will not open her eyes anymore?

"Jullia?" Napatingin ako sa tumawag sakin.

"Finally," I mumbled and I feel like my eyes blurred due to my tears and it became a water falls.

"Oh gosh, what happened? Where's Kesh?" I heard Yana asked while hugging me.

Naramdaman ko rin na may yumakap pa sa akin and I know na sila Min at Kass iyon.

"She's," Huminga ako ng malalim at kinalma ang sarili ko para naman hindi na ako umiyak. "She passed out and she's now currently in a VIP room."

"And how's her mother?" I heard Kass asked.

"The operation was a success and she's stable right now. But, the doctor said that it will be up to Kesia's mom if she will wake up or not."

I heard her gasped and I know they felt heavy as well as I am. We calm ourselves and finally decided to walk towards Kesia's room. While walking, the patients around and their visitors were so amused seeing us walking in the hospital. They also admire us.

Akesia's Point of View

Nang magising ako ay agad ko rin naman nakita sila Yana na nakaupo sa sofa. Ah, did I passed out again? Bakit feeling ko habang tumatagal ay mas nagiging mahina ang kontrol ko sa emosyon ko? Is this a side effect of using my emphatic ability? If so, then, bakit yung mga kaibigan ko hindi nakakaramdam ng ganito?

"You're awake," Napatingin ako kay Henry and he looked so haggard.

Mahina naman akong tumawa, "Bakit mas mukha ka pang pasyente kesa sa akin?" I teased.

"Wow, Akesia. Nakuha mo pa talaga magbiro, ano?" Dinig ko namang reklamo ni Yana.

I smirked, "Well, what do you expect?"

Nakita ko naman na umiling iling sila na parang hindi makapaniwala sa sinabi ko kaya naman mas ininis ko pa sila. After half an hour of teasing them, I stopped.

"Oh, bakit ka tumigil? Di ba mang aasari ka pa?" Inis na sambit ni Min.

Ngumiti naman ako, "Ayoko na. Nakakasawa din kayong asarin. Wala man lang emosyon."

"At siya pa talaga ang nagalit." Dagdag naman ni Kass kaya naman natawa kami.Maya maya pa ay may kumatok sa pinto kaya naman napatigin kami dahil bumukas na din ito. We saw a very young doctor and I think he's around in her mid twenties.

"Hello, so you're all here." He said and looked at me, "And you're finally awake. Great timing." He added.

"Dapat na po ba akong kabahan, doc?" I joked and he looked at my friends.

Feeling ko nag-uusap usap sila at nagtatanong ang doctor kung okay lang ba ako or kung may sira na ako sa ulo. I just sighed and stopped teasing them. Hindi ko nga rin alam kung bakit ako nang0aasar ngayon e.

"Kesh, he's the doctor who operate your mom." Jullia said and I looked at the doctor worriedly. Of course, it's my mom for pate's sake. Sino ba ang hindi kakabahan kapag inoperahan ang mama mo tapos ngayon kaharap mo na ang doctor and he's about to tell you what happened?

"Worry not," the doctor said and smiled at me. "Your mom's operation is a huge success and we also stabilized her condition. There is one problem though."

My forehead furrowed. "What problem?" I asked worriedly.

"It is up to your mom if she wanted to open her eyes or not. Right now, she's a comatose person but I know that she can here someone's voice if ever someone talk to her." He said.

"Oh mom,"

Ang kaninang pinipilit ko na hindi bumuhos ay ngayon parang waterfalls na walang tigil sa pag-agos. The pain I felt inside me is now currently forming a tear in my eyes. I wanted to be brave, I wanted to be a perfect real model but, I am still a human after all.

They just stayed silent until I finally calmed down. Still, they did not talk.

"Umiyak lang ako tapos mukha na kayong namatayan diyan." I teased and they just sighed.

"Alam mo, hindi ko talaga alam kung paano mo nakukuhang makipag-asaran pa rin after what you've heard." Mark said at siniko naman siya kaagad ni Kass, "Bakit? Nagsasabi lang naman ako ah." And I saw kung paano siya pandilatan ni Kass.

Mahina naman akong tumawa, "Wala naman kasi akong magagawa if I will just stayed like that. You know, crying will not make everything better. It will only makes you feel better." I said.

Tumango naman ang doctor, "This is why they call us a monster." I heard the doctor said.

"Pardon?" Taas kilay kong tanong.

Hindi ko kasi na-gets yung sinabi niya e. Do we look like a monster?

Mahina na tumawa ang doctor at saka nagsalita, "Well, aside from the miracle that surrounds us, they also were too confused on how can we adopt in the environment so easily. Dahil doon some of them called us a monster."

"Wait," I said and I signal him to stop, "What do you mean by us?"

"Oh, Kesia, he's graduated at Mint Academy." Jullia said.

My jaw dropped at what I've heard. "Oh my gosh!" I exclaimed.

Natawa naman ang doctor sa sinabi naging reaksyon ko. "I graduated in the academy five years ago." He said.

"Oh," Me and my friend said. Well, aside from Jullia.

"Anyways, it's good to see my junior. After ko kasi na maging doctor hindi na ako nakabisita sa academy." He said and he looks like he missed the academy so much. "Well, anong section ninyo?"

"A," Henry answered.

"Wow, I'm in B," He said with a sincere smile on his face. "So, may verdant pa rin ba ngayon?" He asked, "Hindi na kasi ako nakakapanood ng mga balita ngayon and even using a phone is really hard to do. Ang dami kasing kailangan asikasuhin lalo na kung part ka ng surgeon department." He added.

Nagkatinginan kaming magkakaibigan at saka tumango.

"Hello, doc, I'm Mark Buenaventura, sophomore rank seven and a former member of Mission team Verdant Ellipse sophomore and now a part of Research team Verdant Ellipse sophomore."

"How do you do, doc. I'm Kassey Morrie the current rank sixth of Mission Verdant Ellipse sophomore."

"Hi, doc, I'm Jullia Quin the current fifth ranker in Research team Verdant Ellipse sophomore."

"Okay, it's me doc, Jasmine Smith the fourth ranker in Research team Verdant Ellipse sophomore."

"The one and only Alyana Montaverde the rank third. Of course, part of the Research team Verdant Ellipse sophomore."

"At your service, doc." And I smiled a him. "I'm Akesia Mendrez, the current second ranker and a sub leader of the Research team Verdant Ellipse sophomore."

"Hello, doc, I'm Henry d'Alessi the leader and first ranker." He said with a smile.

Nang tingnan ko ang itsura ng doctor ay kitang kita ko ang pagkagulat sa kanyang mga mata, syempre, pati na rin sa mukha niya. Nanlalaki ang kanyang mga mata sa gulat at the same time nakanganga na din siya. Natawa naman kami sa naging reaksyon ng doctor at saka siya naka-recover.

"Oh goodness, I never thought that I will meet your legendary group here."

"Oh doc, you over praised us. Hindi kami legend ah." Yana said.

"Hmp, anong hindi? Kayo na nga lang ang laman lagi ng mga bibig ng ibang mga doctor dito. They always asked me to asked you all to be here para makilala sila since alam nila na graduate ako sa Mint Academy. Little did they know, na hindi madali ang makipag transaksyon sa academy ngayon."

Tumango naman kami, "Yes po, hindi nga po. Dahil sa laganap na terorismo ngayon ay hindi na nagpapalabas basta basta ang academy ng mga students. Iilan lang ang pinapayagan sa amin na lumabas."

"Yeah, iyan din ang dahilan kung bakit active ngayon ang mga ospital. Kung dati nakakapagpahinga pa kami ng isa hanggang dalawang oras kapag on duty kami ngayon kahit thirty minutes pahirapan." he said and I know that he's sad about this.

Nagkwentuhan pa kami ng kaunti hanggang sa tawagin na si doc ng isang nurse dahil may kailangan na itong operahan. And knowing that nurse's face it's an emergency and hindi na pwedeng ipagpaliban pa.
