I sat at the pack meeting, my mind elsewhere.
The other alphas were discussing plans on how to take down the Hunters. I was barely paying attention, my mind was preoccupied with thoughts of her.
It was barely twenty four hours since I saw her face for the first time in years, and she was all I could think about.
"What do you think, Alpha Zane?"
The question snapped me out of my thoughts, and I looked at the Alphas.
"I'm sorry, what was the question?"
"Alpha Zane, you haven't said anything since we started. Are you okay?" Alpha Kiev asked, a coy smirk on his face.
"Yes, Alpha Kiev. I'm fine." I said, curtly, not missing how his eyes narrowed at me. Kiev and and I didn't like ourselves and we made it known to each other. We only tolerated ourselves because of our packs.
