Chapter 44: Observing Eyes
While Elliot is walking the hallway, exiting from Tomás’s office, he can’t help but notice Tomás’s employees’ loud gossip and murmurs.
He slowed his pace and listened to their convo.
“Isn’t he? I heard them so loud,” said the girl wearing a skirt with bright red lipstick.
“Yes, hoe,” answered by her co-workmate.
Elliot glanced at them only to caught that they are gawking at him too.
He gasped and looked away. Elliot fastened his pace walking with his head down low until he’s in front of the elevator.
Elliot pushed the button simultaneously to open it. His breath became uneven and big beads of sweats formed around his forehead.
He could hear the loudness of the beat of his heart through his own ears.
Elliot stepped inside as the elevator opened
