I spent the rest of the afternoon with Cal in the marketplace before the sun began to set and I finally had to decide what I wanted to do about giving Caius his answer. I started to feel a heavy, unpleasant sensation in the pit of my stomach as I accepted that I was going to have to talk to the Emperor again, and I wished that I had been more open with Jax about what I had seen...about what the Emperor was, and what Jax was, and exactly what that could mean for me.
