The Emperor sent for me in the evening, without explaining why I was needed or where I would be going; I was told to get dressed into the elegant clothing I was given, and that he would be back shortly to meet me. It was a relief to see Cal appear around the corner before Caius arrived - I was still unsure of what was going on with him, but wherever I would be going with the Emperor I felt a lot safer knowing Cal was with me. He helped me up onto the pristine white horse I knew belonged to the Emperor, and then stood patiently beside the beast as I looked around to find any evidence of where Caius actually was.
