Shannon’s POV.
Chase is pushing me out into the main room.
“I’ll go and get Chance and we will leave.” Chase says and I nod my head, afraid that if I speak, I will cry. I offer him a small smile. He knows I’m breaking inside, but he knows I don’t want to be coddled either.
I watch as he walks away to find Chance. The doors behind me open and all the officers step out. I don’t look at them. I don’t acknowledge them.
“Shan,” Stinger says before he moves in front of me and drops to his knees.
“I’m so sorry you had to go through all of this. I know you are hurting right now after what happened. You need to understand it was him or you. He wouldn’t have stopped and you know that.” Stinger says and I slowly turn my head and look at him.
“I know. I know.” I say softly and Stinger deflates
