Chapter 12

Rylee POV

Aiden didn't text back so I figured he was asleep. I play in my head phones and turned on Spotify and started to work on the next chapter of my homework. Luckily our old schools curriculum was ahead of this new school, so we did the homework knowing the answers and study the chapters ahead so we could keep up the pace and get an understanding. After re reading a chapter in my chemistry book I decided to make a sandwich. I was just walking into the kitchen when a banger came on. I started to dance around being silly since everyone was asleep or if you my brother up gaming with his buddies back home. I was bouncing and swing my hips, popping my butt, rolling my hips. While I was getting everything for my food. I felt eyes on me though.

I twirled around and thought I saw something outside I stopped and turned. Yup, there was a giant wolf outside sitting there watching me. He was massive! eyes glowing blue, fur pitch black. Like you know in all remakes of the little red riding hood the wolf is always huge black and rabid looking. Well that was this one looked like although not rabid. He looked well groomed. I've seen him before. I was out there before when I went outside and he came super close to me and snarled. I walked to the door and looked through at him. His eyes trained on me the whole tie. I opened it and slowly walked out. I took my headphones out and slipped them into my shorts pocket next to my phone. I stepped over to him slowly. Each step I took he didn't move. Then i stopped and thought. "Do I talk to it like a dog? or a human? Does it have a name? Is it friendly? How did address a wolf?

I took a few more steps. the wolf didn't move, he barely even blinked. "Hi." I said my voice barely a whisper. To be fair though I'm also afraid of it just lunging at me and eating my face. The wolf stood up and I realized exactly how tall it was. I had to look up at it. I reached my hand out toward its snout. "May I?" I asked. The wolf lowered it head putting his snout against the my palm and giving it a lick. I rubbed it on my shorts saying "ew" and then went back to put my hand on his giant head. I rubbed from his snout to the top of his head behind the ears. As i ran my hand through his fur I walked around him and taking in his massive form. His back was even taller than me. I touched the sides and even his tail. He was completely black except for the very tip of his tail. There was a small patch of white fur. It made me giggle when i did he turned his head to look at me and i shrugged and said "your um tail.. the white patch... its cute" He huffed at me. He sat on his hind legs so he was more to my height. I sat on the grass and he laid down with his paws crossed. "So I'm assuming you can understand me?" He nodded "You're a member of this.. area? not sure what you would call it." Another nod. I sighed. "So that means you know Aiden and that I'm a human." another nod. I shivered a little and He stood up and walked behind me laying down curling around me. I instantly felt warm. His big tail was sitting in my lap as I stroked it looking at the stars in the sky. I slightly chuckled. "I always wanted a dog, not that I'm thinking of you as a pet. I never figured stuff like this was real. Just some weird legends that people over played and made into novels and movies. Let alone did I think my life would get wrapped in it. Or that I would be talking to a giant wolf that is part human that can understand every word I'm saying. Will we be able to leave? My brother and I go to college after high school. Obviously we wouldn't say a word to people cause who would believe us."

I sat there and looked out at the stars still. The wolf just sat there with me. I looked at him and his eyes were focused on me. I felt butterflies in my stomach as I looked into his black eyes. A low rumble came from inside the wolf that I felt run through my body. "I should probably go inside, its late. I have more questions about werewolves. Would you answer them? I'd ask Aiden but he's kind of scary. The wolf nodded and then stood and walked into the forest as I sat on the ground still. I was kind of hurt I didn't even get to say bye. But I heard a voice coming from the darkness. "I'll meet you here every night to answer questions just look for me." "Why are you in the dark? Who are you?" "I had to hide to shift.. unless you wanted to see me naked. I'm a normal pack member. Just keep an eye out." I blushed and in a squeaky voice said "no that's fine. Good idea." His laugh made me melt. "See you tomorrow beautiful." I heard popping sounds and then the heavy fall of his paws as he ran off. "Oh crap what did I get myself into."

I sat there for a few more minutes looking up when i heard the back door. I didn't need to see who it was. "Baby why are you out here?" My mom said walking up to me. "I was just looking at the stars, the sky is so clear." I said as she came into view. "Come back inside its cold." As I stood she put her hands on my arms. "You must not have been out here long." I shook my head. "No I came to make a sandwich, I was studying." We walked inside, and I grabbed my sandwich as mom started putting the stuff away. "thank you. goodnight." I kissed my moms cheek and headed upstairs. I flopped on my bed and took a bite when my phone dinged. I rolled over and grabbed it.

Aiden: sorry I was talking with my dad. but you probably asleep. Goodnight princess.

I stared at the screen princess. that's new. Oh well i tossed in on the night stand and got ready for bed. I wonder who that wolf was, maybe Aiden could tell me or his dad.
