Chapter Forty Eight – The Decoy   Carson’s point of view I watch out the window of the royal bed chamber, waiting for the last of the guests to disappear into the night.   I can only hope that the King and Queen have made good their own escape, but as the servant’s entrance is at the opposite side of the palace, I cannot see this.  The lady Alya is laid upon the bed her eyes wide with fear, she is so young, yet has more maturity than most of the ladies of the court.  Her love for our Queen is evident, and I only hope for her sake this plan works, for even before she was made a Lady, I held a soft spot in my heart for the girl.
