Chapter Forty – The Diary

I stand in shock and awe as my beautiful Queen has gifted me an heir, let us hope she produces a boy! But I will also love a girl with the innocence and strength of her mother. Everything else around me pales into insignificance as I feel the pride swell within my breast bone.
However, as much as I want to bask in this feeling of happiness, the work of a King is never done, and I must attend to the urgent matter of reclaiming the lands and properties of Lord and Lady Berger, so that he may live his final days in some comfort, and Lady Berger may remain in her home after Lord Berger’s passing.
