The plane ride to Florida was amazing, I was a bit jet-lagged but that didn't stop me from enjoying myself. We rented a car and my mother drove us to our new house.
The house is a five-bedroom bungalow with two garages located in the suburbs, I smile as we come down from the vehicle and I turn to ask my mother how we can afford such a home.
"It comes with my new job, and an Audi convertible." She says excitedly but I am not listening, a sound catches my attention and I love to the direction of the sound.
I come face to face with a blue-eyed boy and I freeze.
I am left transfixed by his blue eyes and they seem so familiar to me, but I do not know why, he stares at me curiously and I am transported back to the night I remembered my familiar dreams.
"What is it, what did you remember?" Jay asked me as soon as I sat up from the bed.
"My dreams, I remember what my dreams are about," I said and my hand went to my mark, I have begun to see it as a mark instead of a scar.
"Oh really!" He asked with interest and I took a deep breath.
"I don't really understand it, but I have a feeling that I would understand it very soon," I started and he scooted closer to me anxious to hear everything. "I'm not sure I remember everything," I said stalling because what I was about to tell him would be the weirdest s**t he has ever heard.
"Come on tell me, Jay." He pressed me and I give in noticing his anxiousness.
"My dreams are my subconscious mind trying to remind me of what happened the day of my accident, I remember running away from a kind of howling animal with yellow eyes and then falling off a cliff, I don't remember how I got the mark, but the last thing I remember is a blue-eyed boy with a blue stone necklace hovering over me."
"I don't understand, you fell off a cliff, or that's just what your mind is telling you?" He asked in confusion.
"I don't really know, but that's what I dreamt about and it's what I've been dreaming about all this while, now I know that the bluestone necklace belongs to the boy who rescued me and I have no idea how to reach him, I didn't even get a good look at his face," I replied and lay back down on the bed.
"We all thought you had almost drowned at the lake and was rescued by a local, there was no sign of injury, you were just unconscious, if you had truly fallen off a cliff, you would've been severely injured, I mean you would have broken several bones." He said and I thought for a moment before I replied to him.
"Yeah, you're right, there's no explanation as to why I have no injuries or scars from the fall, but there's no explanation as to why the jewels were glowing as well. In all the years I've been wearing that Jade, it has never glowed before." I said confusing the both of us more.
He thought for a second before he snapped his fingers at me. "I've gotten it, it's a prank, it's a going away prank."
"Going away…, what do you mean?" I asked and glared at him for taking such a serious issue as I joke.
"No, I'm not kidding, think about it, when does your Jade get returned to you, when also does Zara give you the necklace, your jade probably has been embedded with a glowing plastic and that stone probably is too, I mean did they glow while you were still at Zara's, I bet it had to be exposed to a bit of sunlight before it glows." He said and I studied him, the wheels turning in my head.
"You're so brilliant Jay, the rays emitted from the stones must have caused a reaction to my skin, I get that from silver, that would explain why my need was itching so bad," I said and smiled at my brother, he had figured it all out, as always.
"Yeah stupid," He said and whacked me softly on the head. "Zara got you pretty good, she must have had a good laugh thinking about how you would react."
"Yeah, she got me good." I laughed and pushed his shoulders playfully.
"And to think you were already talking about being weird, you're not weird, you're just dumb, but I love you like that." He said and pulled me in for a hug.
"Awwwwn, I love you too Jay, you're the best." I hugged him back and pat him on the back, because of him, I would be able to go back to sleep.
"Now let's sleep and don't wake me up till morning." He said and I didn't respond because I was already half asleep.
"What are you looking at," Jay asks and his voice brings me out of my trance, I shake my head to clear it and I look, he's gone, the blue eyes guy is gone and I wonder if I would meet him again.
"Nothing." I turn my face away and we walk together to our new home, smiling from ear to ear.
"Oh, all the rooms have their own bathroom," I yell excitedly. I was happy because I would not be sharing a bathroom with Jay anymore.
Not that he is messy or anything, quite the opposite, he's a sucker for cleanliness and he chews my ear off about it constantly and he also spends way too much time in the shower and since he gets up before me, he ends up using most of the hot water, if not all.
But I don't have to be worried about that, my mother's new job came with benefits that would ensure that we live as comfortably close to luxury as possible.
"Does it have a pool, oh please let there be a pool," Jay pleads as he hurries to check the back of the house.
He yells loudly for me to come and I smile, we have a pool, and tears nearly fall out of my eye.
I walk up to my mother and silently hug her, she hugs me back and pecks me on my head.
She understands that I am thanking her and she is also thankful that she was able to make us feel so happy.
After my father died, things were pretty rough for us because my mother was a stay-at-home mother, she had to go back to her profession and it was not really easy because age was not on her side anymore.
But we pulled through and now, were golden with a pool I think as I run to the back of the house, I gasp in shock as I see the huge pool.
I scream when Jay picks me up and throws me into the water.
"Jay!" I yell at him and cross my arms staring at him sadly. "No fair," I mutter and stretched my hand for him to pull me out.
"Stop acting like a cry baby." He laughs and tried to help me out of the pool.
I pull him into the water and laugh as he goes down and resurfaces shaking his hair.
"You play dirty Jay." He says and attacks me, pushing me into the water.
My brother continues his torment until my mother yells for us to come out of the water and dry off.
"We have our first guests, well neighbors." She says excitedly, Jay and I race for the first to get out of the water and dry off.
I won obviously, but that's because I used to be on track.
My life took a weird turn two years ago.
I sigh as I try to dry my hair with the towel, I supported moving away, not just because my mom got a better job, but because I needed a fresh start.
"Hi." I greet as I walk into the living room ten minutes later. Jay is already in the living room and he smiles at me as I walk in.
I notice the neighbor is a middle-aged man with dark hair and a medium build, I watch him as he talks with my mother and my heart constricts, she was laughing, I had not heard my mother laugh so heartily in a long while.
"Hello." The man greets me when he notices me. "You must be Jade, your mother has told me a lot about you, you and your twin brother are totally amazing, your semblance is very uncanny, I wish I had a twin when I was younger." He says politely and smiles at me baring his strong white teeth.
"Nice to meet you, sir." I smile back at him and offer him my hand in greeting.
"Oh, how rude of me, I forgot to introduce myself." He says and taps his forehead. "I'm Sirius, please don't call me sir, makes me feel old and I'm not that old." He says and smiles at my mother.
She laughs again and I stare at her incredulously.
What did he say that was so funny?
Jay nudges me with his elbow and breaks me out of my staring trance, I look at him astonished at my mother's behavior.
"I noticed it too." He whispers and then smiles as my mother and Sirius keep talking as if we do not exist.
"I think mother likes him." He whispers again and I frown at him.
"Eeeew," I say and turn to my room when the door bursts open suddenly and two people walk in.
I look in shock as the blue-eyed boy from the street walks in with a plate of pie in his hands. I take a proper look at him and I notice his features clearly for the first time. He has an angelic and devilish look combined, his face looks hard and scary but his blue eyes bring light to his face.
He stands at a height of like 6 " 2 and I know that because I eye-measured him to Jayden, Jayden is 6 " 1 but the guy looks a bit taller than him. He has a medium build like Jayden, he has thick black hair that is set in a bad boy's cut with his hair falling slightly over his face, or at least I consider that as a bad boy haircut.
"Sorry dad, we had to wait for the pie." A voice speaks and I turn to the other person that came in.
The other person is a girl and her facial features are so mesmerizing, I look over at Jay and I see that he is staring at the girl. She has the looks of a supermodel and I wonder if she is modeling, she has high cheekbones, her eyebrows are thick and her lips are pouty, she has a slender figure and a tiny waist that puts mine to shame and I tug at my shirt feeling insecure about my own figure.
She also has thick dark hair that she wraps in a bun and I notice dimples peeking out on her cheeks when she talks.
"Oh thank you and please come in." My mother's voice brings me back from my thoughts and I realize that I have been awkwardly gawking at the two people standing at the door.
"These are my two children," Sirius says and introduces them to us. "This is Maliya my daughter and this is Mason my son." He says and turns to them before adding. "This is Jade and that is Jayden, they're twins and this is Clarice, their mother."
"Hi, welcome to the neighborhood." The girl says cheerfully and she nudges her brother who mutters the same thing.
"Hi," I mutter shyly and look at Mason through my lashes.
"Hello, like he said am Jay and it's really nice to meet you both because we would like to look around you know," Jay says smiling at the girl and I wonder how he could be so free with people.
"Umm, I don't think so…." The boy starts to say but his sister interrupts him.
"That's a good idea, we're less busy right now, we can definitely show you around, right Mace?" She asks and I almost laugh at the expression on his face but then my heart falls, he doesn't seem to like me, he has barely looked at me since.
Wait what, why do I care if he likes me or not.
"Excellent," Jay says and pulls Mason in for a bro hug.
"You know what, I'm quite tired, why don't you guys go ahead, and I'll stay," I say, I would not endure the company of someone who doesn't even want to be with me.
I look at my mother and I mentally shake my head, the woman is practically drooling over this man.
Can you be any obvious, I roll my eyes at her and she doesn't even notice, it's like the both of them are in a world of their own.
"Humph." The girl huffs and looks at Jayden expectantly.
"Jay are you sure." He mouths at me and I nod my head.
He wakes to me and the girl hugs me briefly before they turn to the door, Mason doesn't even spare me a glance as he walks out of the door.
What is wrong with me, why do I care if he notices me or not?
Angry at myself, I turn and walk towards my room slowly, I have barely made it three steps in before the door opens and someone calls my name.
"Jade." I look at the caller and my heart skips a beat.
"Yeah," I answer and stroll towards the door, trying to sound aloof as my heart is jumping in my chest.
"Come with us." He says and my heart nearly stops. "Please." He adds and my heart melts like butter.
