Chapter 8

1197 Words

Selene's POV The man didn’t answer my question. He just smiled, gave a small nod, and turned around like I hadn’t spoken at all. His footsteps were quiet, calm, almost too smooth as he walked away and disappeared into the crowd. I stood frozen, watching as he walked away. Something about him didn’t feel normal. It wasn’t just the confidence. It was something deeper… something hidden. There was a mystery wrapped around him like a second skin. “Who the hell is he?” I thought to myself. In that moment, a strange chill ran down my spine. And then I felt Lisa, my wolf. She didn’t growl, didn’t speak, but she just stirred. Restless. Alert. “You felt that too, didn't you?” I whispered inside. She didn’t answer right away. Instead, she just paced. Long, slow circles in the back of my mind.
