Selene's POV I opened my mouth to say something, anything at all, but Valkar beat me to it. “Please,” he said, raising a hand. “Let’s go inside. It’s better we speak where the wind doesn’t listen.” I didn’t move right away, but Victor did. With a scowl carved into his face, he brushed past me and entered the cabin first, acting like he owned the place. Valkar turned to me and gave a gentle nod. “Come in. You should sit down.” The inside of the cabin smelled like herbs and something sharp—burnt sage maybe. The walls were decorated with old wooden shelves filled with jars and books.
