Selene's POV
I didn’t reply to Victor's questions right away because my mind was elsewhere.
Valkar's voice kept echoing in my head, but they didn’t bring peace. I didn’t feel excited or ready. Instead… I felt like something inside me was being ripped in half because he also said that Victor and I shared a bond deeper than anything normal.
And now that I was standing here, looking at him… I didn’t know what to believe anymore.
“Selene,” Victor said again, pushing off the fence.
That one word snapped me out of the chaos in my head, and before I could stop myself, I was already moving.
I walked straight into him, wrapped my arms around his waist, and buried my face in his chest.
He stiffened for a second… then wrapped his arms around me.
I held him tighter, although I wasn't sure why
