Valerie’s POV
It was no surprise when Aries called to tell me that Eveline and Ruston’s father wasn’t at the packhouse where Edward now lived. The Alpha knew nothing about it and Edward had an alibi. The border patrols saw him in the vehicle driving from one point to another. According to Aries, Edward ran into some car trouble which explained why it took him so long to go from one point to the other and, just to be sure, they checked the car and the fix Edward told them about was visible.
Edward was lying. I couldn’t prove it, but I knew he was lying. Eveline might not be at that specific packhouse, but Edward sure as hell knew where she was. When Aries returned, he and Gerard went out to the spot where the trackers last caught Eveline’s scent and they scoured the entire area for clues,
