Valerie’s POV
I curled up in Aries’s arms and slept for a couple of hours before a guard cleared his throat to wake me. It was time to get ready for court. I knew what my witnesses were going to say. I knew more people were probably going to tell the jury that I was a good person. I knew what the evidence was, but I didn’t know what it would show. The prosecution closed their case on the fourth day and the defence started. It was just more of the same and it was more than I could take, but I clung to the hope that once this was all over, I would have saved my family and the pack from the worst threat we’ve probably ever seen or will ever see again.
