“We’re under attack, Elder Kira,” Tobias burst into the room without knocking, his face pale with panic. At his intrusion, I jumped from the bed, fearing the worst. “Which side do we need to dispatch the soldiers?” I asked him. He shook his head no at my question, confusing me. Taking a moment to calm down, he whispered, “ It’s not the Den that is under attack. It’s the packs. We are getting backup requests from the Alphas, but we don’t have that much workforce to send them help.” My heart sank as he said that in a low voice. Preparing my heart, I asked, “How many packs are under attack?” “All of the packs,” he whispered, making me stumble in shock.
