"By that, do you mean us?" Alpha Dimitri, the one throwing question after question (not that I blame him for that), raised an eyebrow at me. "To win this war, we must take risky measures. But before that, we need to strengthen ourselves," I replied. "You know this can lead to extinction of our species, right?" Alpha Dimitri asked with a sad look in his eyes but with a determined tone that suggested he had decided to risk it all. "I'm aware of it," I said, though deep down, I was more scared than anyone. I always thought I could effortlessly carry out my duties as an Elder, but now that we are in this dire situation, I am afraid of being unable to protect them. "You are speaking with such conviction.
