At the Healing Research Center, Garrett respectfully accompanied me on a comprehensive tour of the facilities.
As we walked through each department, he briefed me on the current operational status, research projects, and staffing changes that had occurred during my five-year absence.
Almost all the members of the research team I had personally assembled and trained were gone. The few familiar faces that remained had been systematically marginalized and relegated to minor, unimportant roles.
The cutting-edge research projects I had initiated before my accident had either been abandoned entirely or drastically scaled back. Years of careful work and progress had been essentially erased.
