It's been a few days since Chief Ironshirt banished Black Shawl into isolation. She has been having pain in her stomach since that day. She's in a squatting position with a clothe in her mouth waiting for the birth of her child. Black Shawl fears that she will be sent away if they come to know that her baby is born. "I have to find a way to hide my child. If not we will not have anywhere to go. We won't survive the winter." She looks around her tee-pee thinking as she grunts.
Lighting Heart has been keeping a watchful eye on the woman. As much as she dislikes and distrusts Black Shawl she knows that Black Shawl's faith is to be there until spring. The old woman hears a loud grunt coming from the tee-pee. She walks closer to see what is Black Shawl doing. Lighting Heart shakes her head
