Mother came barging into the office, three young ladies in tow, she stopped in front of me and I felt her anger rolling off of her and I wondered what I had done this time to deserve her wrath. I just needed to breathe, I felt, any more than what my mother considered a reasonable breath and she would inspect my reason for taking more air than I should.
